Perfect start for Mill BOWLS

MILL Bowls Club made the perfect start to the 2015 Bidgood League this week.

Ruislip-based Mill took maximum points home from their opening fixture at neighbours Ladygate after winning 46-28.

Northwood A did not enjoy the opening day so much after taking just one of the four points on offer following a narrow 30-27 defeat at home to Harrow Weald.

In the Harrow & District Veterans League, previously unbeaten Division One table toppers Eastcote lost a thriller to Wealdstone 51-49.

They remain top, but Ruislip A closed the gap to a single point thanks to a 68-36 win over Northwood which gave them four points.

Northwood fared better in their second match of the week where they overcame Harrow A 54-47.

In Division 3, Ruislip B suffered a 68-44 defeat to Culver.

Meanwhile, Harlington won their friendly away to Ritchings Park 67-42.

They followed that up with a 56-53 triumph over Cowley.
