A FAM­ILY from Ruis­lip is warn­ing other an­i­mal own­ers af­ter their cat was shot in the face with a pel­let gun.

Stephen Davies, of Camp­bell Close in Ruis­lip, said his fam­ily were shocked by an attack on their pet Ed­die, pic­tured be­low, on Mon­day 1 June, which left him with se­vere in­juries. He said: “At first we thought he’d been kicked. But ac­tu­ally he was shot with a pel­let gun that went through his nose and into his spine.

“I’m an­gry and ashamed that the hu­man race could do some­thing like this. My wife is dev­as­tated. Our other pets are up­set too and keep look­ing for him.”

Ed­die re­quired ex­ten­sive treat­ment from a vet in or­der to save him. The cost of his care is es­ti­mated to be around £4,000 af­ter he had a CT scan, was put on a drip an stayed over two nights in a row. Mr Davies added: “He’s a fam­ily mem­ber who is loved. We just want to make peo­ple aware that some id­iot is go­ing round hurt­ing an­i­mals.”
