Woman asked for travel fare cash

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION - ANTHONY BULL Floriston Avenue Hillingdon

I HAD a similar experience in the next road to Mrs L. Ward (Gazette letters, June 10).

I was getting out of my car when a woman holding an oyster card asked me for a pound to top it up so that she could get to Uxbridge.

I didn’t have any money on me but she thanked me anyway and said not to worry.

She noticed I was looking at her left eye, which looked black and blue, and said she hadn’t been beaten up but was recovering from an eye operation.

This happened on Saturday May 30, FA Cup Final day.
