Slip­stream­ers trio win CY­CLING

CAITLIN Love­less, Jed Smith­son and Mad­die Em­ment en­sured Hilling­don Slip­stream­ers left a win­ning mark upon the Na­tional Youth Cir­cuit Race at Minet Park.

The trio all won their races with Love­less lift­ing the tro­phy in the girls race, while the lat­ter duo com­peted in the U10s and U8s con­tests re­spec­tively.

Jo O’Brien fin­ished two places be­hind team­mate Smith­son, com­ing in third to com­plete a vic­to­ri­ous day for Slip­stream­ers. HAYES and Dis­trict Bowl­ing As­so­ci­a­tion fell to a 144-105 de­feat at Read­ing de­spite win­ning two of their rinks.

M Stil­well, R Feary, A Wat­son and P Smith saw Hayes to a nar­row 21-16 vic­tory in their rink, be­fore M Wil­liams, S Adams, J Stil­well and B Wil­son won by a more com­fort­able 34-18 mar­gin in their rink.

De­spite de­feat, the rink vic­to­ries for Hayes will pro­vide plenty of en­cour­age­ment go­ing into their next fix­ture.

Hayes and Dis­trict Bowl­ing As­so­ci­a­tion also won all three rinks in their re­sound­ing 96-76 win against Stoke Poges. SEVEN Bath Road Cy­cling Club mem­bers took to the Black Park and Pinewood cir­cuit in Buck­ing­hamshire for a mid­week time trial re­cently.

Graham Giggs (21.51), Richard Will­cox (23.27), Ken Pritchard (25.45), Leon Thomas (27.48), Nick Mann (27.56), Colin Mann (28.31) and Dave Giggs (32.10) all rode home in style af­ter com­plet­ing the 9.2mile course.

Mean­while, Adrian Feek rode in the Hemel Hemp­stead Cy­cling Club ‘10’ out at the Tring & As­ton Clin­ton By­pass on Satur­day, record­ing a time of 22.54 on a wet and windy day.
