Slipstreamers trio win CYCLING
CAITLIN Loveless, Jed Smithson and Maddie Emment ensured Hillingdon Slipstreamers left a winning mark upon the National Youth Circuit Race at Minet Park.
The trio all won their races with Loveless lifting the trophy in the girls race, while the latter duo competed in the U10s and U8s contests respectively.
Jo O’Brien finished two places behind teammate Smithson, coming in third to complete a victorious day for Slipstreamers. HAYES and District Bowling Association fell to a 144-105 defeat at Reading despite winning two of their rinks.
M Stilwell, R Feary, A Watson and P Smith saw Hayes to a narrow 21-16 victory in their rink, before M Williams, S Adams, J Stilwell and B Wilson won by a more comfortable 34-18 margin in their rink.
Despite defeat, the rink victories for Hayes will provide plenty of encouragement going into their next fixture.
Hayes and District Bowling Association also won all three rinks in their resounding 96-76 win against Stoke Poges. SEVEN Bath Road Cycling Club members took to the Black Park and Pinewood circuit in Buckinghamshire for a midweek time trial recently.
Graham Giggs (21.51), Richard Willcox (23.27), Ken Pritchard (25.45), Leon Thomas (27.48), Nick Mann (27.56), Colin Mann (28.31) and Dave Giggs (32.10) all rode home in style after completing the 9.2mile course.
Meanwhile, Adrian Feek rode in the Hemel Hempstead Cycling Club ‘10’ out at the Tring & Aston Clinton Bypass on Saturday, recording a time of 22.54 on a wet and windy day.
