Pair in­jured as car hits Northolt fence

Two oc­cu­pants had to be cut free from ve­hi­cle

TWO peo­ple man­aged to avoid se­ri­ous in­jury af­ter the car they were trav­el­ling in hit the fence at RAF Northolt.

Paramedics at­tended the scene on Tues­day last week and took the ca­su­al­ties to North­wick Park Hos­pi­tal Hilling­don Hos­pi­tal.

One of the oc­cu­pants had to be cut free from the ve­hi­cle, which was re­ported as hav­ing over­turned.

The Lon­don Am­bu­lance Ser­vice de­scribed the con­di­tion of the two peo­ple as walk­ing wounded but not se­ri­ous.

Lon­don Fire Brigade said 14 fire­fight­ers at­tended from the Wem­b­ley and Northolt sta­tions.

A RAF spokesman said: “RAF Northolt fire and med­i­cal crews pro­vided an im­me­di­ate re­sponse to the in­ci­dent.

“They worked along­side the civil­ian emer­gency ser­vices, sta­bil­is­ing ca­su­al­ties and help­ing to ex­tract one ca­su­alty from a ve­hi­cle.

“Oper­a­tions on the unit were un­af­fected.”

The in­ci­dent which hap­pened be­fore the Pol­ish War Me­mo­rial caused se­vere traf­fic de­lays.
