Join Hayes to celebrate its history and culture
HAYES will celebrate this Saturday at a carnival marking it’s vibrant history and diverse community.
The Hayes Carnival parade starts in Pump Lane at 12.30pm, headed by the Toque Tambor Samba Band, and will make its way to Barra Hall Park where the free events begin at 1.30pm.
There will be performances from Jack Walton from the X Factor, Hillingdon’s Hidden Talent competition Ethan Beer, and 60s soul trio The Estrellas as well as various schools.
Other entertainments include Gozart and his giant puppet, the Save the Lyma Birds puppet act, stilt walkers, and Monty Hammond’s Fun Fair as well as community stalls.
Cllr Douglas Mills, cabinet member for community, said: “Last year’s carnival was a great success, with thousands of people flocking to Barra Hall Park to enjoy the free entertainment.
“This year’s event celebrates the diverse cultures and communities of Hayes and we hope that Hillingdon residents and visitors make a day of it by going down to the town to enjoy the fantastic atmosphere.”
