A MU­SI­CAL theatre star came to North­wood to help raise thou­sands of pounds for a chil­dren’s char­ity.

Elaine Paige OBE, the first lady of Bri­tish mu­si­cal theatre who has starred in Cats, Evita, Chess and many oth­ers, hosted The Elaine Paige Clay Pi­geon Shoot at Hol­land & Hol­land premier shoot­ing ground.

She was joined by tele­vi­sion pre­sen­ters Ni­cholas Owen and Adrian Mills, Arnold Crook, chair­man of Theatre Royal Hay­mar­ket as well as 40 clay pi­geon shoot­ing en­thu­si­asts.

Al­to­gether they raised £10,500 for The Chil­dren’s Trust, the UK’s lead­ing char­ity for chil­dren with brain in­juries.

Elaine Paige, who has been an am­bas­sador for The Chil­dren’s Trust for 30 years, said: “It’s theth six­thi th clayl pi­geoni shoot that I have hosted and they’re al­ways a great day, with a nice lunch and cham­pagne re­cep­tion. The peo­ple that take part not only en­joy the shoot, but also know that they are help­ing to raise money for a very spe­cial char­ity.”

The clay pi­geon shoot took place on Thurs­day June 4.
