AN ABUSIVE West Drayton man seen spitting at his partner outside court has been jailed.

Harry Wilkes, of Maple Avenue, was appearing at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on July 3, in relation to an incident of domestic abuse against his 26-year-old partner, the Met Police said.

While outside the building, next to Hillingdon Police Station, the 23-year-old spat in his partner’s face.

The assault was witnessed by a detective and Wilkes was arrested.

DC Mark Henry, from Hillingdon CID, said: “Wilkes was already appearing at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court for sentencing to a previous incident.

“He was going to receive a suspended sentence, however, once District Judge Wright was made aware of the further incident which had happened outside court the previous Friday, she changed her mind.

“Wilkes was then sentenced to 16 weeks’ imprisonment and made to pay £100 compensation to the victim.”
