Back Heathrow urges third runway decision
Expansion supporters make views known to PM
SUPPORTERS of Heathrow expansion are writing to the Prime Minister urging him to push ahead with a new runway in west London.
Campaign group Back Heathrow is asking its supporters to send messages to David Cameron to pressure the government into accepting the Davies Commission’s recommendation that a third runway should be built at Heathrow.
The group claims there is a danger a ‘vocal minority’ of antiHeathrow protesters could defeat what they say is a majority view in west London and the Thames Valley in favour of Heathrow expansion.
Back Heathrow’s campaign co-ordinator Rob Gray said: “We are hoping thousands of our supporters will make their views known to the prime minister.
“The majority of residents living near Heathrow back expansion at their local airport.
“They do not shout, scream or chain themselves to fences, but they hold strong views and have every right to be heard.
“I urge everyone who supports a bigger and better Heathrow and the enormous community benefits that it would provide to speak up now.”
Back Heathrow describes itself as a ‘coalition of 100,000+
