School celebrates its exciting new addition
Pupils and teachers officially open new building
A PRIMARY school in Uxbridge celebrated the launch of their new facilities.
Hermitage Primary, in Belmont Road, officially opened their new school building on Wednesday, July 1.
The Deputy Mayor of Hillingdon John Hensley was joined by representatives of local education, health and social care, sports groups and businesses at the event.
Head teacher Ms Andrea Fricker said: “The last two years have been a real challenge, as we have expanded to a two-form entry school, while the new school has been built around us.
“Yet during that time we have continued to provide exciting education for our children, secured a ‘good’ Ofsted rating and achieved Key Stage 2 results that are in the top 10 per cent of the country.
“We now have a stunning new building and facilities fit for the 21st century.”
The opening included refreshments, meeting the school governors, pupils and staff and a rendition from the choir.
