Students gel on stage for Hairspray musical
QUEENSMEAD High School pupils whisked an audience back to the 1960s with their performance of Hairspray earlier this month.
Both shows at the school in Queens Walk, South Ruislip, on July 7 and 8, were packed out.
The play was based on the 2002 Broadway hit, which tells the story of 1960s Baltimore teen, Tracy Turnblad.
Claire Rowthorn, who directed the Queensmead production, said: “The students who took part in Hairspray were an absolute credit to the school. It takes an awful lot of focus and commitment to put together a show of such high quality and the students involved were a pleasure to work with.”
