Desperate for new volunteers
THE RSPCA helps animals who are most in need. It’s a tough job, often dealing with difficult people and seeing animals who have experienced suffering and neglect can be very distressing.
But by volunteering with us as an admin or office support volunteer you could be part of giving these animals a second chance.
Can you help to answer calls, direct our Animal Welfare Officers in the field, assist with processing adoption applications, and help with some essential administration work?
“With the increase in calls from members of the public, and the number of animals rescued, we are struggling. That’s why we are desperate for volunteers who can help fill some of our gaps” says Cheryl O’Keeffe, Animal Welfare Team.
The help of volunteers means we can be there when an animal needs us most, and you will assist with the running of the branch’s rehoming and welfare programmes.
Your administration skills, passion and can do attitude will enable us to help animals in need, it’s also a great opportunity to learn new skills and meet like-minded people.
We’re looking for people who are proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook, confident, efficient and friendly, with office experience and a quick learner who can follow instruction accurately. If you think you fit the bill and can commit to assisting in the office 9.30am to 5pm on a Friday plus a morning or afternoon slot on Mondays we would love to hear from you.
Even though it is an office based position you will get to meet all sorts of animals as they come and go, from tiny kittens to gerbils.
Having a grateful cat purring in the background is wonderful reminder of why we are here, but also why we really need you to join us. If you would like to join us, please contact Cheryl today on cheryl@ rspcamiddlesex.org.uk for an application form.
Snow and Ham have just arrived and need a new home.
These very cute little guys (both male gerbils) are about a year old and came into our care as the children who had them became bored with them, a tale we hear all too often.
If you would like to adopt the inquisitive little characters then please call us on (020) 8966 9688 or email us at: info@ rspcamiddlesex.org.uk To see all the animals we have in our care desperately looking for a new home for life visit our website at www.rspcamiddlesex.org.uk.
