A touch of Frost inspires record score

Harefield Gazette - - SPORT -

HAYES Academy’s teenage cricketing prodigy Josh Frost helped send more records tumbling after his team-mates set a record score.

The 13-year-old (pictured) starred alongside Michael Green to propel Hayes to a highest team score of 389 against Belmont & Edgware, beating the previous best of 388.

With Green knocking off the majority of the runs, it was Frost who scored the critical runs at the end. Frost was the right man at the right time as he helped Hayes claim the final 69 runs required from the last 10 overs. The Uxbridge High teen had only recently claimed all 10 wickets in a single innings – the first time in more than 200 years at Hayes CC.

Green had also recently set his own record for the highest individual score when he achieved 223 not out, and he once again lived up to the hype as he smashed 171 from just 63 balls to keep the record total well within sight.

Green took 6-48 for the first team on Saturday, but they remain bottom of Thames Valley League Division 2b after losing to Wargrave by seven runs. Ruislip are second in Division 4a after hammering Windsor seconds by 132 runs, but Hillingdon Manor lost by 76 runs to NPL Teddington.
