Ciampini’s big double

BRILLIANT Attilio Ciampini scooped two major victories for Uxbridge Bowls Club in the Middlesex County Finals at Wealdstone on Sunday.

Ciampini won the two wood singles after edging past Masonic’s Dave Pitt 14-13 in the final, then added the men’s singles to his haul after seeing off Parsons Green’s Simon Jee 21-15 in the final.

He will now go on to represent the county in the national finals at Leamington Spa in August.

Meanwhile, Harlington Bowls Club ended a run of three successive defeats with a 46-44 victory over Rosedale on Saturday, the highest winning rink coming courtesy of S Palmer, C Fitzgerald and D Cutmore 17-13. This followed losses to Hayes (73-26), Fassnidge (60-47) and Stanwell (50-45).

The club are looking to recruit new members to join. Coaching is available and all you need to bring are flat shoes or trainers, with all other equipment available for use.
