Col­lege of­fers chance to be next gam­ing sen­sa­tion on new course

AS­PIR­ING video games de­sign­ers or wannabe spe­cial ef­fects wizards can soon get a ca­reer start at Uxbridge Col­lege from next month.

The Col­lege in Park Road is launch­ing a diploma in games, an­i­ma­tion and VFX skills for stu­dents aged 16 and over, which will be com­pa­ra­ble to three A-Lev­els.

From cre­at­ing vis­ual ef­fects for the latest TV or movie block­buster to de­vel­op­ing the next videogame sen­sa­tion, stu­dents will be given all the tools they need to be­come the next gen­er­a­tion of mak­ers, the col­lege says.

Zulf Choudhry, head of com­put­ing and IT, added: “We’re de­lighted to be one of the first col­leges in Eng­land to of­fer this new two-year course.

“A whole new suite of fa­cil­i­ties with the latest tech­nol­ogy will be avail­able to stu­dents.”

Any­one wish­ing to en­rolll will need five GSCEs in­clud­ing English lan­guagee and Maths at grades A*-C.
