Sum­mer School pro­duc­tion scoops top hon­our

RUIS­LIP Op­er­atic So­ci­ety’s Stage­Works Sum­mer School has won the Na­tional Op­er­atic and Dra­matic As­so­ci­a­tion Lon­don YOUNGSTARS tro­phy.

The so­ci­ety was awarded Best Youth Pro­duc­tion for its 2014 pro­duc­tion of Beauty and The Beast Jr.

The So­ci­ety was nom­i­nated along­side pro­duc­tions of Guys and Dolls, Half a Six­pence, Dis­ney’s Peter Pan, The Mer­chant of Venice, Les Mis­er­ables and Rent.

Di­rec­tor of Stage­works Sum­mer School, An­nie Hertler-Smith, said: “This award recog­nises not only the huge amount of work our tal­ented cast put into each sum­mer school pro­duc­tion but also the mas­sive con­tri­bu­tion made by our adult sup­port teams. Well done to ev­ery­one in­volved.”

The award will be on dis­play at the Win­ston Churchill Theatre in Ruis­lip.
