Online supermarket reveals plan for Stockley Close
AN ONLINE supermarket has announced plans to create 200 new jobs in Hillingdon.
Ocado unveiled a new 56,947sq-ft delivery hub in Stockley Close, due to be opened in October.
The site will be home to around 90 of Ocado’s brightly-coloured green vans and the supermarket is now recruiting drivers on a permanent basis to deliver shopping to customers’ homes throughout the week.
Director of HR Julie Markey said: “As we continue to expand our business in Greater London, we’re excited to announce the opening of our newest delivery hub in Hillingdon.
“The site at Stockley Close is perfectly located for serving our customers who live in the south-west London area and we’re now on the hunt for 200 enthusiastic, customer service focused new drivers to join the team.”
Current Ocado driver Christopher Andrews said: “I joined Ocado to make the most of my customer service skills and I take a lot of pride in each delivery I make.
“Since joining two years ago, I’ve been given various opportunities to develop my skills.
“In particular, I was delighted to be promoted to my role as trainer, allowing me to use my coaching skills, which I really enjoy.
“I also regularly buddy up with new recruits to show them the ropes and I feel like I’m really making a difference.”
