Boris wel­comed for tour of school

BORIS John­son joined Ab­bots­field School for “Fri­day favourite” of fish and chips and a game of football.

The Uxbridge and South Ruis­lip MP tucked into his lunch in the din­ing hall be­fore vis­it­ing the site where the new school will be built in Septem­ber.

The visit be­fore the school broke up for the sum­mer fin­ished with a tour of lessons af­ter lunch in­clud­ing a Year 7 class study­ing Charles Dick­ens, Year 12 Pure Math­e­mat­ics and the school’s Art Gallery.

Mark Bland, head­teacher at Ab­bots­field, said: “It was great to welcome our visi­tors and show them what a great school Ab­bots­field is, they were very im­pressed by how well-man­nered the boys were and by how en­thu­si­as­tic and fo­cused they were in lessons.” Mr John­son was joined by Hilling­don Coun­cil leader Ray Pud­di­foot and Cllr Wayne Bridges.
