HAV­ING been a Cow­ley res­i­dent all my life I find my­self ask­ing why do some peo­ple think it’s so­cially ac­cept­able to dump their un­wanted fur­ni­ture on the grassed area on the cor­ner of St Christo­pher Road, Cow­ley, an area that I pass by of­ten?

There is a brown sofa which has been there for the past three weeks, re­cently parts of a bed and a chest of draw­ers have now joined the sofa.

The sofa had for many weeks been in a front gar­den.

I con­tacted the coun­cil to ask them to speak to the ten­ant whose gar­den it had been in, be­cause I had not wit­nessed it be­ing dumped on the green they would not ap­proached the ten­ant, the fact that I had seen it in her front gar­den ear­lier did not count.

It’s a shame some peo­ple show a lack con­sid­er­a­tion for the en­vi­ron­ment and their neigh­bours, es­pe­cially as the coun­cil of­fers a
