STUDENTS CELEBRATE RESULTS
Dreams were made or broken as hundreds of teenagers picked up their A level results in Hillingdon last week. KATHERINE CLEMENTINE reports
THREE girls from St Helen’s School, in Northwood, joined its elite group of students who achieved 4 A* grades in their A-levels this year.
Among them was Talia Hubble, whose haul of top grades, added to those achieved by her elder sister Billie at St Helen’s, in Eastbury Road, last year, mean that the Hubble siblings have an impressive total of 7 A* grades between them.
Head teacher Dr Mary Short said: “St Helen’s is proud of its excellent all-round provision. This has been reflected in the spread of subjects in which we have seen top results and the wide range of degree courses which our girls will now go on to study at the country’s most prestigious universities.”
At Uxbridge High School, more than a third (36 per cent) picked up A*-B grades, with the business studies course seeing 72 per cent of pupils getting top marks.
Delighted principal Nigel Clemens said success would stand everyone in good stead for the next stage of their lives.
Deepuk Lakhanpal was one of Uxbridge High’s top performers with straight As in maths, chemistry and finance.
At Bishop Ramsey Church of England (CE) School, 48 per cent of pupils picked up one of the top A*-B grades.
Head boy James Coleman excelled with three A*s and will read med medicine at Car Cardiff Uni University.
B Bishop Ram Ramsey also has two ‘Ox ‘Oxbridge’ stu students with Jes Jess Grimmel hea heading to Ca Cambridge Un University an and Matt Zi Zimmerman to Oxford.
Swakeleys Sc School had a 10 100 per cent pa pass rate for th the fifth year ru running, with 56 per cent getting the top A*-B grades.
Head teacher Sue Pryor said: “We are extremely proud of the achievements of all of our students.”
