Dreams were made or bro­ken as hun­dreds of teenagers picked up their A level re­sults in Hilling­don last week. KATHER­INE CLE­MEN­TINE re­ports

THREE girls from St He­len’s School, in North­wood, joined its elite group of stu­dents who achieved 4 A* grades in their A-lev­els this year.

Among them was Talia Hub­ble, whose haul of top grades, added to those achieved by her el­der sis­ter Bil­lie at St He­len’s, in East­bury Road, last year, mean that the Hub­ble sib­lings have an im­pres­sive to­tal of 7 A* grades be­tween them.

Head teacher Dr Mary Short said: “St He­len’s is proud of its ex­cel­lent all-round pro­vi­sion. This has been re­flected in the spread of sub­jects in which we have seen top re­sults and the wide range of de­gree cour­ses which our girls will now go on to study at the coun­try’s most pres­ti­gious univer­si­ties.”

At Uxbridge High School, more than a third (36 per cent) picked up A*-B grades, with the busi­ness stud­ies course see­ing 72 per cent of pupils get­ting top marks.

De­lighted prin­ci­pal Nigel Cle­mens said suc­cess would stand ev­ery­one in good stead for the next stage of their lives.

Deepuk Lakhan­pal was one of Uxbridge High’s top per­form­ers with straight As in maths, chem­istry and fi­nance.

At Bishop Ram­sey Church of Eng­land (CE) School, 48 per cent of pupils picked up one of the top A*-B grades.

Head boy James Coleman ex­celled with three A*s and will read med medicine at Car Cardiff Uni Univer­sity.

B Bishop Ram Ram­sey also has two ‘Ox ‘Oxbridge’ stu stu­dents with Jes Jess Grim­mel hea head­ing to Ca Cam­bridge Un Univer­sity an and Matt Zi Zim­mer­man to Ox­ford.

Swake­leys Sc School had a 10 100 per cent pa pass rate for th the fifth year ru run­ning, with 56 per cent get­ting the top A*-B grades.

Head teacher Sue Pryor said: “We are ex­tremely proud of the achieve­ments of all of our stu­dents.”
