HARLINGTON Bowls Club enjoyed double victory as the club’s gentlemen and ladies sides both won their respective friendlies.

The gentlemen saw off Rosedale in an emphatic 51-40 victory – with the highest scoring rink coming from B Poole, T Markham and P Rance, who won 19-8.

And the ladies side fended off Hillingdon Blind Bowlers 53-22 with J. Fisher, F. Valentine and D. Maylin producing a remarkable rink, winning 24-7.

Harlington are on the lookout for new members. For more information, contact the club on 01895 443 559 or 01895 463 757.

Meanwhile, John Stilwell and Jean Chamberlain were in terrific form as Hayes and District Bowls club completed their tour of Eastbourne.

The club will be looking forward to their next bowls trip, which takes place next June as they travel to Cliftonville. HAYES boxing duo Ramesh Ahmadi and Tommy Tear will both be defending their unbeaten records with the next round of bouts rapidly approaching.

Ahmadi has two wins to his name, both via knockout, while Tear (pictured) boasts nine wins and nine stoppages on his CV. The duo train at Les Southey’s gym in Hillingdon and are both on the bill as Hellraiser Boxing presents ‘The Take Over’ at the Camden Centre, at Kings Cross station, on October 2.

Ahmadi will be looking to make it three wins on the trot when he squares off with Ian Derbyshire.
