Cheaper parking – more spending

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION - JOHN MARTIN The Greenway Ickenham

THE Gazette reported that the prices at the Uxbridge INTU car park have been increased by 150%.

But why do people park in Uxbridge? Is it not to spend money in the local shops, restaurants and cinema. As they mainly benefit from customers parking in Uxbridge, should the car parks be subsided by the local businesses and FREE for customers.

In July Cardigan’s main car park’s ticket machines were vandalised and put out of action. This led to a surge of visitors to the town centre and local trade increased by 50%.
