Mo­tor­cy­clist killed af­ter car col­li­sion

PO­LICE are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses af­ter a mo­tor­cy­clist was killed in a col­li­sion in Hayes on Sun­day evening (Septem­ber 27).

De­tec­tives from the Roads and Trans­port Po­lice Com­mand were called to Lans­bury Drive at 6.28pm fol­low­ing re­ports of a col­li­sion be­tween a car and a mo­tor­cy­cle.

Of­fi­cers and Lon­don Am­bu­lance Ser­vice at­tended and found two men from the mo­tor­cy­cle suf­fer­ing from crit­i­cal in­juries.

The first, be­lieved to be aged 24, died at the scene a short while later.

The sec­ond was taken by paramedics to a west Lon­don hos­pi­tal where he re­mains in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is as­sist­ing po­lice with their en­quiries.

Roads in the area were closed while po­lice launched an in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

A post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion will be held in due course. Next-of-kin have been in­formed but for­mal iden­ti­fi­ca­tion has yet to take place.
