School shines at fundraisers
Two cancer charities benefit from events
STAFF and parents at an Uxbridge school helped not one but two good causes last week.
On Friday, September 25, Pield Heath House School hosted a Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support in conjunction with Brunel University with cakes, coffee and a raffle.
The following day, 12 members of the school community joined in the Shine Night Walk to raise money for Cancer Research UK and successfully completed the half marathon in under five hours.
Money is being collected at www.justgiving.com/ LouiseMahon2015.
Eryl D’Souza, associate head teacher at the school in Pield Heath Road, said: “We were delighted to be supporting two such worthwhile charities this weekend.
“We hope that our efforts not only raise lots of money but also shows how much our students and community appreciate the value of helping others.”
Pield Heath House is a school for children and teenagers aged seven to 19 with moderate to severe complex learning needs.
