RIOT OF COLOUR: Fundrais­ers take part in rain­bow run

NORTH­WOOD burst into colour as run­ners were cov­ered in rain­bow paint at this year’s #Colour­dash in aid of the Michael So­bell Hos­pice.

Over 150 peo­ple took part in the fun-filled event at Mount Ver­non Hos­pi­tal, wear­ing white t-shirts and sun­glasses, and were pelted with dif­fer­ent colours of paint at each colour sta­tion along the 5K route.

Spon­sor­ship for the event is still com­ing in but the char­ity hopes to raise at least £5,000.

Michael So­bell House is a hos­pice and spe­cial­ist pal­lia­tive care cen­tre at Mount Ver­non Hos­pi­tal.

Me­lanie Bur­fitt, di­rec­tor of in­come gen­er­a­tion for the hos­pice, said: “It costs £6,000 a day to main­tain our cur­rent lev­els of care, , £2,500 of which is pro­vided by fundrais­ing, so the funds raised from this event will re­ally make e a dif­fer­ence.

“We thank ev­ery­one who came along and sup­ported this event which will help lo­cal peo­ple with life-lim­it­ing ill­nesses.”

The colour dash was spon­sored by intu Uxbridge shop­ping cen­tre e with stu­dents from Brunele Univer­sity cov­er­ing the run­ners with paint.
