RIOT OF COLOUR: Fundraisers take part in rainbow run
NORTHWOOD burst into colour as runners were covered in rainbow paint at this year’s #Colourdash in aid of the Michael Sobell Hospice.
Over 150 people took part in the fun-filled event at Mount Vernon Hospital, wearing white t-shirts and sunglasses, and were pelted with different colours of paint at each colour station along the 5K route.
Sponsorship for the event is still coming in but the charity hopes to raise at least £5,000.
Michael Sobell House is a hospice and specialist palliative care centre at Mount Vernon Hospital.
Melanie Burfitt, director of income generation for the hospice, said: “It costs £6,000 a day to maintain our current levels of care, , £2,500 of which is provided by fundraising, so the funds raised from this event will really make e a difference.
“We thank everyone who came along and supported this event which will help local people with life-limiting illnesses.”
The colour dash was sponsored by intu Uxbridge shopping centre e with students from Brunele University covering the runners with paint.
