An­niver­sary art ex­hi­bi­tion

A RUIS­LIP arts group which launched in the last days of the Sec­ond World War is to hold an ex­hi­bi­tion as part of its 70th an­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tions.

The So­ci­ety of Ruis­lip Artists, formed in 1945, is still go­ing strong and is invit­ing res­i­dents to view its work at The Cow Byre, Manor Farm Es­tate in Bury Street, Ruis­lip from Oc­to­ber 18 to 31. There will be paint­ings by lo­cal artists for sale, all in dif­fer­ent styles and media.

Joyce Car­pen­ter, speak­ing on be­half of the group said: “We have been told that ours is the long­est reg­is­tered so­ci­ety in the bor­ough which we are ob­vi­ously proud of so we hope many peo­ple will come along to see us in our 70th year.”

The ex­hi­bi­tion is open from 10am un­til 5pm Mon­day to Satur­day and 11am to 4pm on Sun­days. Ad­mis­sion is free.
