High praise for our flower towers

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION - ROBIN POTTS Lodge Close, Cowley

I WOULD Like to say how much I have enjoyed the floral displays in Hillingdon.

This year’s displays have been most impressive. I have admired the hanging baskets of flowers on lamp-posts, the flower-boxes on pedestrian railings at most junctions and the ‘flower-towers’ in pedestrianised areas in the borough.

They have been praised by friends who have visited us this summer from Cumbria, Durham and Devon – beautiful places in their own right.

If only I could achieve such results in my own garden!

These displays are so good that they must be quite expensive – but this is money very well spent.

If Hillingdon Council is ever forced to cut back on expenditure, please don’t cut back on the flowers!
