Wreckin, trekking, schlepping

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION - SUE VARLEY Elthorne Road Uxbridge

IN response to Barbara Fisher’s request for local expressions we grew up with (Gazette, September 9) I still always say ‘I’m going round the Wrekin’ if I have a longish, or complicated journey.

I spent the first twenty years of my life, (a long time ago] in Ellesmere, Shropshire.

I’m glad to know that saying has spread around as those of us from Shropshire, and Birmingham, who have moved and travelled around the country!
