SPLASHING HONOUR FOR WORK
HILLINGDON Swimming Club’s Gillian Neal has been recognised for her outstanding work.
She has spent years watching her daughters bring home swimming medals but has now been rewarded for the work she does within the club.
Gillian is a qualified swimming referee, not only officiating at nu- merous meets for club, county and region but she also supports less experienced officials by mentoring them at galas.
Club chairman Teresa Jones said: “Gillian gets things done with an efficiency and a willingness that means these numerous events can take place. She is calm under pressure, cheerful and always approachable, whilst also being able to take control of a situation and get everyone organised.
“Gillian organises all of the officials for our club’s two big annual galas, which can take several weeks, if not months of planning and also involves travelling and assisting at galas that other clubs are hosting. She works tirelessly and is an invaluable, experienced official and dedicated ambassador for our sport.”
