Carers are urged to get the flu vaccination

Harefield Gazette - - NEWS -

IF you are a carer of an elderly or disabled person it is important to think about getting a flu jab.

GPs offer free NHS flu vaccinations to carers, but starting this autumn many community pharmacies are doing the same.

Flu can strike at any time and leave you unable to function for days.

Flu is especially bad for carers, as with little time to arrange alternative care they could be leaving a vulnerable person without support. They are also more likely to pass flu on to the person they’re caring for, who may be particularly at risk from the virus.

If you are a carer and have not had the jab, contact your GP or see if your local pharmacy is offering the service.
