Borough is flying the flag again for quality parks
HILLINGDON Council is raising another six Green Flags in the borough in recognition of the quality of its parks and open spaces.
The borough now has 34 Green Flags adding to its reputation as one of the greenest boroughs in the country.
Green Flag awards are the highest mark of quality for parks and open spaces.
On October 8 Hillingdon mayor George Cooper and his wife, mayoress Judith Cooper, attended the flag-raising ceremony for Knights Gardens in Hayes End, Elephant Park in Hillingdon and Shenley Park in Ruislip Manor. A previous ceremony was held for Warren Park in Yeading, Hitherbroom Open Space in Hayes and The Closes in West Drayton on September 29.
Cllr Jonathan Bianco, the council’s cabinet member for finance and business, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the borough and highlights all the hard work and input from council staff and the community and volunteer groups.”
