Temple buzzes with Navrati festival
SHREE Adhya Shakti Mataji Temple buzzed with VIPs during celebrations of the nineday Indian festival of Navratri last week.
The temple in High Street, Cowley, welcomed Hillingdon mayor George Cooper, his wife mayoress Judith Cooper, councillor Roy Chamdall and Bruce Houlder, representative deputy lieutenant for Hillingdon on Thursday, October 22. Musicians and dancers competed and the guests were ‘garlanded’ before the mayor was invited to light the candle of peace.
Later in the evening a cake donated by The Cake box was shared.
A temple spokeswoman said: “This year’s was one of the most memorable ones so far and unique in all ways.”
