Diesel boat event for Wa­ter­ways group

THE Mid­dle­sex Branch of the In­land Wa­ter­ways As­so­ci­a­tion (IWA) will hold their next so­cial meet­ing on Tues­day Novem­ber 10 at Hilling­don Canal Club, writes Imo­gen Robin­son.

The speaker will be Tony Brooks from Canal Boat Mag­a­zine who will pro­vide a pre­sen­ta­tion on diesel boat en­gine main­te­nance.

Lucy Smith, trea­surer and so­cial sec­re­tary said: “Tony pro­vides hand­outs and brings a wealth of knowl­edge and ex­pe­ri­ence on all as­pects of en­gi­neer­ing and main­te­nance.”

The IWA was founded in 1946 and ad­vo­cates the con­ser­va­tion, restoration and de­vel­op­ment of in­land wa­ter­ways to en­sure that mem­bers of the pub­lic can con­tinue us­ing and en­joy­ing them.

The doors and bar open at 7.30pm for the 8pm start. Hilling­don Canal Club is on Water­loo Road in Uxbridge by the canal be­tween the flats op­po­site Water­loo Road Church.

The near­est tube sta­tion is Uxbridge and the near­est main­line sta­tion is West Dray­ton.
