Find out more about volunteering

Harefield Gazette - - NEWS -

JACKY Rankine, our newly appointed fundraiser and volunteer co-ordinator was delighted to represent the branch at the Hillingdon Volunteer Fair, held at Uxbridge Library on Monday, October 19.

It was an opportunity for us to spread the word about the welfare work the local branch is doing as well as recruiting additional volunteers for our charity, which are much needed.

It was also a pleasure to meet Hillingdon’s Deputy Mayor John Hensley and wife and to establish his genuine interest in the work we do .

Readers may not be aware that RSPCA Hillingdon survives only on public donations and local fundraising.

We certainly couldn’t do it without our team of committed volunteers.

Have you any time to spare to help at our Hillingdon Shop, during the week, Saturdays and Christmas Sunday? If so please do get in contact with us either by email or popping into the shop, you will receive a very warm welcome.

Mushi is a six-month-old black kitten who came into our branch in August. She is a beautiful little lady with a personality to match.

Mushi loves lots of attention n so would not like ke to share her spotlight with any other animals.

As well as cuddles, she loves nothing more than to play with her toys and have a good scratch on her scratching post. Can you offer little M Mushi her forever home? If so please go to www.r www.rspcahillingdon clinic for an app application form.

F For peace of mind, wh why not get your pet mi microchipped? We are offering micro chi chipping at the clinc unt until Saturday, Nov November 7 for £5, by appo appointment only.

Firework Night and Diwali are just around the corner and can be a very anxious time for animals as fireworks are used for longer periods of time.

We recommend dog owners close windows, doors and curtains, and use the TV or radio to muffle the sound. You may also want to consider a plug in calming pheromone or sprinkle lavender on their bed.

Never punish your dog for displaying unwanted behaviour, this will only distress them more.

We recommend cat owners bring their pets indoors before it gets dark and have a litter tray, water and food available.

Medication is also available – please discuss with your vet.
