Mayoral vote too important to miss

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION - DEBORAH KING Otterfield Road, Yiewsley

I WAS surprised and concerned to find out from Hillingdon Democratic Services that Yiewsley had one of the lowest turnouts in the 2012 London Mayoral elections.

Fewer than 25% of people voted,

as against a London average turnout of 38%.

The Mayoral elections in May 2016 are important, as they affect how many police we have on the streets, how much we pay for public transport, how much affordable housing is built and many other key issues.

I have registered a website, and would like to hear from anyone who is interested in a non partisan campaign to increase voter turnout in the local area.

Please contact me if you can help with ideas or practical support by emailing Debo
