Fab five for dahlia man

A MAN who grows dahlias won mul­ti­ple first prizes at the East­cote Hor­ti­cul­tural So­ci­ety flower show.

Ke­wal Seed­her, of Deanecroft Road, Pin­ner, won five first prize cer­tifi­cates for his dahlias, as well as a sil­ver medal for best dahlia ex­hibit, a rosette for best ex­hibit and the GH Bick­er­ton Cup for the over­all high­est points in the dahlia sec­tion of the show.

His flow­ers also re­ceived two sec­ond prize cer­tifi­cates and one third prize.

Mr Seed­her has been grow­ing dahlias for 22 years and en­ters the flower show ev­ery year. Last year he also won eight prizes.

He said he was ‘very happy’ with his win and his se­cret to grow­ing flow­ers is sim­ply to ‘look af­ter them a and feed them prop­erly’.

The East­cote Hor­ti­cul­tural So­ci­ety holds three shows a year, one in spring, one in sum­mer and the au­tumn event which was held in Septem­ber.

Shows are held in Oak Hall at East­cote Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, South­bourne Gar­dens, East­cote.
