Bus access to Master Brewer site

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION - ROSEMARY BOUNDEN Leaside Court Hillingdon

YOUR article of October 21 ‘No Circus Site for Tesco’ quoted Linda Harrison from Eastcote speaking about the Master Brewer site being accessible by bus and train.

I would like to add that the U2 bus passes the former Master Brewer, the 697/698 go down and up Long Lane 3-4 times a day during school term only. And the Oxford Tube and X90 pass by with limited stops between Victoria and Oxford.

While the U1, U2, U3, U4, U5, U7 stop at Hillingdon Hospital with connections to Uxbridge (LT) station or Hayes and Harlington and Yiewsley and West Drayton main line stations.

The A10 and 724 Green Line from Heathrow stop at Junction 10 Field Heath Road with bus connections to the hospital or a short walk.

In the 1950s we walked across the fields to Hillingdon Hospital and met folk who had travelled from Kent to visit friends and family. Only the 223 bus from Ruislip went to Hillingdon Hospital and possibly on to Yiewsley and West Drayton and maybe Heathrow.
