Time to save green spaces from HS2

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION - FRANK RHODES Hillman Close Uxbridge

IT was most disturbing to read in your edition of November 11 that HS2 plans are to seriously impact the Site of Special Scientific Interest at Frays Meadow, Uxbridge.

I am also very disturbed that HS2 plans, which are not well publicised, will probably also result in the closure of Ruislip Golf Course, Uxbridge Golf Course and the Council Outdoor Activities Centre in Harvil Road, Harefield among other facilities.

These valuable and attractive facilities must be protected by all means possible for the use of future generations. HS2 would bring no advantage to Hillingdon and few if any for the nation.

The Council should be lobbied to continue it’s effort to protect our amenities and to represent this view with every means at it’s disposal.
