WEST Drayton’s Teddy Tanner claimed two martial arts medals at the Matt Fiddes British Championships in Swindon earlier this month.

The six-year-old Matt Fiddes Martial Arts Club student fended off 40 other competitors at Swindon’s Oasis Leisure Centre as he picked up a gold medal for his hand drills and bronze for his combo wave.

And the West Drayton Primary School star’s mother was delighted with her son’s achievements.

Mum Suzanne Tanner said: “Getting gold in only his second competition was better than any of us could have dreamed of.

“I was very proud. The whole family came out to support him and all of his coaches were so pleased.

“This was only his second competition and he’ll be going in for more now.”

The annual Matt Fiddes Championship is for all ages from three years old and all abilities including purple belt and upwards.
