N-ice way to welcome Christmas
CHRISTMAS will feel right around the corner as the festive ice rink outside Uxbridge Civic Centre returns.
The attraction will be open from Saturday until January 3, but will be closed on Christmas Day.
Organisers say there will be themed nights every Thursday from 5pm which will include 80s v 90s on December 3, Film Hits on December 10, a Frozen film theme for the whole family on December 17 and the Christmas Cracker on Christmas Eve.
Hillingdon Council has frozen not only the rink but also the prices, which will remain the same for the fifth consecutive year.
Cllr Douglas Mills, cabinet member for community, commerce and regeneration, said: “In January this year, there was a record number of people enjoying the Uxbridge ice rink. It’s a great way of bringing the family and friends together during the festive season.”
Opening hours for the rink are 10am to 8pm, but closing at 6pm on Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve, and opening between 11am and 6pm on New Year’s Day.
Tickets cost £7 for adults and £5.50 for children and concessions during peak hours. During off-peak hours adult tickets are £5 and £3.50 for children and concessions. Uniformed groups will receive a 20 per cent discount when group booked.
