Was our case for CCTV not well put?

Harefield Gazette - - OPINION - ROY JAMIESON Cornwall Road Ruislip

APPARENTLY there are to be CCTV cameras installed in Sidmouth Drive, Ruislip to monitor HGVs “following a well agreed case by a local resident” according to Cllr Mills.

When they were suggested by Cornwall Road residents as a traffic calming measure, we were advised by Cllr Burrows that they could only be installed after there had been “three deaths on the road”.

Subsequently they installed traffic islands on part of the road, which instead of calming traffic are having the opposite effect as some drivers and motor cyclists are now treating the road as a racing, obstacle course which could easily result in accidents, and is also making parking very difficult.

Several residents have emailed councillors Puddifoot and Burrows, but we have been completely IGNORED.

Is there anyone out there that cares about the residents that the Council supposedly “PUT FIRST”? Apparently NOT!
