LINFORD Christie OBE joined Brunel University students for a spot of tea to help raise money for Children in Need.

The Olympic games gold medallist was a guest at a Mad Hatters Tea Party on Friday, November 13.

The party was organised by director of commercial services, Tracy Strachan and was part of a campaign of activities including cake sales, litter picking and a photo scavenger hunt.

Ms Strachan said: “Once again our team has done Brunel proud by the mammoth effort and passion they have put in to raising such huge sums of money for this year’s Children In Need, a huge thanks to all who took part.”

The university has raised over £8,500 so far, with Mr Christie telling organisers he was ‘delighted’ to be able to support Brunel in their fundraising for such a great cause.
