MP’s stamp of approval for post office
LOCAL MP John McDonnell visited postal workers in his Hayes & Harlington constituency to thank them at the busiest time of the year.
The Labour MP and Shadow Chancellor made a trip to Royal Mail’s Hayes delivery office to pass on Christmas wishes and encouragement to postmen and women on December 11.
He was given a tour by delivery office manager, Alison Ray, and introduced to some of the postmen and women who are sorting and delivering mail in the Hayes area during the festive season.
Mr McDonnell said: “There is a huge amount of effort and dedication that goes into delivering a first class Christmas at Royal Mail’s busiest time of year.
“Our postal workers do such an important job at this time of year and I would like to thank them for their efforts and wish them all the best over the busy festive period.”
Ms Ray said: “Our staff are working extremely hard to deliver Christmas cards, letters and parcels to people across Hayes.
“We are grateful that John visited the office to see our operation and to support the team.”
She asked the Gazette to remind readers to post early so that friends and family have longer to enjoy their Christmas greetings and to use the postcode to avoid delays.
