Slipstreamers honour CYCLING
HILLINGDON Slipstreamers chairwoman Alison Grant has been awarded with the British Empire Medal in the New Year’s honours list.
The Slipstreamers chief has been recognised for her services to cycling and follows on from the Points of Light award from the Prime Minister in the summer of 2014.
Grant joined the Hillingdon club in 2000 and has helped build the team into one of the largest of its kind in the country.
Participation in the sport continues to grow on the back of the London 2012 Olympics and Slipstreamers now boasts more than 300 members after starting up with 20 in 1998.
Sir Bradley Wiggins CBE and British women’s cross country mountain bike champion Jenny Copnall remain club vice presidents.
