CHILDREN at two Hillingdon schools will be given dental check-ups in the spring without having to set foot in a surgery.

Feelgood Dental Practice, in Belmont Road, Uxbridge, is to pay a visit to West Drayton Primary School and Rabbsfarm Primary School, in West Drayton and Yiewsley respectively, in a bid to catch tooth decay early.

It is part of the Keep Smiling initiative between Hillingdon Council, Public Health England and NHS England aimed at improving the oral health of schoolchildren.

It follows a recent report which identified five-yearolds in Hillingdon as having the worst teeth in London, with 25 per cent suffering from tooth decay.

Dr Amit Rai, principal dentist at Feelgood Dental, said: “I am looking forward to helping prevent tooth decay in the children of the primary schools that we shall be visiting.”
