‘Fantastic boon’ for family centre
A CHILDREN’S contact centre which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, has received toys and new equipment from the Mayor of Hillingdon.
Cllr George Cooper visited the Uxbridge child contact centre at Christchurch Hall in Uxbridge just before Christmas to present the team with a donation of toys and equipment to benefit families who use the service.
Ewan Malcolm, Chief Executive of Relate London North West, said: “New toys for the children that use the Uxbridge Child Contact Centre is such a wonderful gift.
“We are very grateful to the Mayor of Hillingdon’s charity appeal for providing all this new equipment which will really improve the experience of separated families.
“The active support of the Mayor of Hillingdon Cllr George Cooper and the Mayoress Cllr Judith Cooper is a fantastic boon for the volunteers that have been running this excellent service for 20 years.”
The centre received a cheque for £2,840 from the appeal and has used the funds to buy a wide range of new toys for the children and IT equipment to help the volunteers run the centre.
The Uxbridge child contact centre, which enables children from separated families to meet parents or family members they might not otherwise be able to see, is one of the beneficiaries of the mayor’s charity appeal this year.
