Eastcote slip off the top HOCKEY

Harefield Gazette - - SPORT -

EASTCOTE slipped to second in the MBBO Regional One standings after letting a couple of points slip against Wycombe.

The Boars fell behind promotion rivals Ashford on goal difference at the summit as the Buckinghamshire boys roared back to claim a 3-3 draw on Saturday.

Eastcote had comfortably beaten Wycombe in the reverse fixture last year and it looked to be the same story this time round when Will Alderton and Mark Allison gave them a 2-0 lead at the break.

Wycombe pulled one back before David Cooper restored the two-goal cushion with only 20 minutes remaining.

However, victory was taken away by a late show from the visitors as they rallied at the death to snatch a share of the spoils.

Eastcote’s second string lost to relegation rivals Wallingford 3-2, Fil da Costa and Joe Forster scoring the goals for the Boars. The ladies saw their game cancelled due to frost. WEMBLEY & HARROW TABLE TENNIS LEAGUE RESULTS
