Nurse launches her book about al­co­holic mum at Water­stone’s

NURSE Phyl­lis Whit­sell will be at Uxbridge Water­stones next week to cel­e­brate the launch of her book, Find­ing Tip­per­ary Mary.

The book, which is co-au­thored by Gazette colum­nist Bar­bara Fisher, tells the re­mark­able true story of how Phyl­lis tracked down the al­co­holic mother who gave her up for adop­tion many years ear­lier.

She went on to spend nine years

The Uxbridge Gazette Se­ries nurs­ing her mother un­til her death, with­out ever re­veal­ing her true iden­tity.

Bar­bara, who be­friended Phyl­lis sev­eral years ago, en­cour­aged her to share her story.

They will be at Water­stones Uxbridge, 240a The Chimes Shop­ping Cen­tre (intu Uxbridge) on Mon­day Fe­bru­ary 15 at noon, the day Find­ing Tip­per­ary Mary is re­leased.
