Harefield Gazette - - SPORT -

DENHAM United Ladies’ U13s finished their final home game of the season in scintillating style with an 11-1 win over Bedwell Rangers.

Melissa Asavoaie set the tone early on as she opened the scoring following a smart move straight from kick-off.

The lead and Asavoaie’s personal tally were soon doubled when she added a great finish from outside the box, before Mayze O’Mahoney made it 3-0.

Katie Gavin’s second goal of the season made it 4-0 before Denham’s final goal of the first half was rifled in by Ellie Wright.

Wholesale changes were made at the beginning of the second half but it did not affect the standard of performance as Asavoaie scored two quick fire goals to make it 7-0.

O’Mahoney added her second goal before Bedwell pulled back a consolation to make it 8-1.

Abby Woodbury extended the lead with a fine individual effort before Lauren Clarke tapped in to make it 10-1.

Player of the match Frankie Gilham then scored her first goal for the club to ensure an impressive 11-1 final scoreline.

The U15s also claimed a high scoring victory as they beat Rushmoor Saints 8-1 in the Surrey League Cup semi final.

The U15s have not yet lost this season and were in no mood for complacency when Charlotte Parrett opened the scoring after 10 minutes.

Further first-half goals from Kayleigh Currivan, Katie Akerman and Annie Walsh saw the U15s lead 4-0 at half-time.

Currivan bagged her second after the break, as did Akerman, with Yasmin Garcia also finding the back of the net.

Rushmoor managed a consolation goal, but Akerman was on hand to complete an impressive hat-trick to make it 8-1.

The U14s were also successful as they beat old rivals Colne Valley 6-0 in a friendly.

Alisha Bajwa scored a brace, as did Melissa Asavoaie, while Naomi and Jess Fitzgerald bagged one goal apiece.

Denham Reserves beat Clapham Kicks 3-2 in tough conditions thanks to goals from Joanne Torr, Sarah Harrison and Charlie-Leigh Dixon, while the U10s lost to a strong Tottenham side.
