Teen in court charged with stabbing death
A BOY aged 16 has appeared at the Old Bailey charged with the murder of a man in Rosedale Park in Hayes.
The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, previously appeared at Wimbledon Youth Court on February 2 accused of the murder of Harjit Singh Dulai and for possession of an offensive weapon.
He spoke only to confirm his name at the Old Bailey and will be returning to the court to enter a plea on April 21.
Harjit, 44, died in hospital on Wednesday January 27 shortly after being stabbed by the tennis courts in Rosedale Park, off Albion Road.
So far, six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder as part of the investigation.
Four men, aged 20, 29, 28, and 39, have been bailed to return to a police station on a date in late February pending further enquiries.
A fifth man, aged 39, has been released with no further action.
A post-mortem examination on January 29 gave the cause of death as a stab wound.
The 16-year-old defendant was arrested on Sunday January 31 and subsequently charged with the murder.
